New Femoglas Building

At the end of 2011 it is planned the beginning of the new Femoglas Building, located in the complex Los Libertadores in Quilicura, this one that was delayed as a result of the earthquake, that lamentably involve a great part of the country. The new building contemplates an investment around USD 12.000.000 in infrastructure, with more than 47,000 mts² of total surface, with green and recreational areas for their useful personnel and 12,000 mts² wharehouse, offices, baths, casino, etc. This new investment has been product of the constant growth and that will be one of most modern of the world in this category. In April of 2011 had been the ceremony of the First Stone, that counted on the presence of the managers, executive, president and union association of Femoglas.

Polycarbonate Panels offer a great protection against storms and hurricanes. Femoglas helps victims of EarthQuake

Executives of Femoglas joined to the national campaign to help victims of the earthquake that stroke Chile the past month of February. They made a contribution by helping more than 100 families from the outskirts of cities such Bucalemu, Boyeruca, Llico, Vichuquén, San Pedro de Alcántara and Santa Cruz, all of them located in the sixth and seventh regions.

The help consisted in delivering boxes with groceries and personal care products to families located in outlying zones, where help hardly had arrived. The executives had the opportunity to share with the families, which created a very emotive and special bond. They also cooperated with Military Forces and Red Cross in some activities in order to assist the families and bring some relief after the devastating tragedy.

Femoglas is once again present and committed to cooperate and help social causes that affect Chile.


6,8 millions invested

In September 2010, Femoglas will own an industrial complex of over 47,000 mts2, where a modern building will be erected. 6, 8 millions will be invested in the project. According to the president of the company, Mr. Fernando Moreno C., the brand new building will have 10,000 mts2 and its structure is designed to be part of the environment.

The construction will have state of the art technology and add new jobs, to its current staff of 170 employees. This will be located in Los Libertadores area in the town of Quilicura.

52 years providing national and international markets with reinforced plastics, makes Femoglas the world leading composite company. Among its clients, are found important retail, mine and industrial companies.


Femoglas® participates in the “Las Cruces” Project, Spain.

Cobre Las Cruces, the most important mining Project of Andalucía and one of the first in Europe, with and investment over 140 million euros, locates it as the industrial initiative most relevant of the province of Sevilla. Las Cruces is a new European mining project of copper production by means of hydro metallurgical and one of the most significant industrial projects of Andalucía, has a result of investigations and studies with a strong economical investment since its discovery in 1994.

In Cobre Las Cruces S.A. regarding the extractive industry, advanced concepts are applied, chaired by technological innovation and environmental by the introduction of warranties and guarantees of economic restoration, as well as a commitment to corporate social responsibility.

The engineering project was carried out by the firm SNC Lavalin Chile, where our company designed and supplied the products of FRP for the areas of Electrowinning, Stripping machine, Solvent Extraction, Tank Farm, and Tank Reactors.

Construction Testing Corporation examines Clear Storm Panels

The barriers against hurricanes have been examined under an intensive testing program. The tests were administered by Dagico Interprises INC, a construction testing Corporation located in United States.
The results obtained were in all ways positive and outstanding; the polycarbonate panels proved to have a great resistance against impact of heavy objects thrown at high speeds and high air pressures.
Once again, Femoglas has proved the high standards and quality of its products, which provide a total satisfaction to its costumers in terms of performance, safety and confidence.


Resistence Test of Femoglas ® FRP gratings.

The test was made by impacting a 150 k motor against to a steel surface grating, which, evidently, does not resist the impact and loses its integrity.
The same test was administered, but this time against to a Femoglas ® FRP grating, which resists the 150 k weight. The impact hits the surface with a strength of 6100 k. After being impacted, the grating comes back to its position, keeping its structural integrity and functioning as efficiently as before.
The durability and elasticity of the Femoglas ® FRP gratings, make them especially comfortable to work and walk, since, by its unique constitution, they allow to reduce the tension of the muscles of the back.
